A network of affordable private schools in South Africa replaces inconsistent, locally-run onboarding and policy training with one centralized system, giving managers the ability to close skill gaps on their own instead of escalating every request.

As Spark Schools expanded rapidly, keeping policies and training uniform across different school locations and departments became a real strain. Compliance training needed to be integrated easily into the mix, and onboarding materials themselves needed improvement, along with an effective way to actually track new hires' progress through them.
Spark Schools centralized its onboarding and training materials so every location and department pulled from the same source instead of running its own version. That same centralization gave managers direct access to the materials themselves, which is what unlocked the shift Jacques describes: when a manager spots a skill gap on their team now, they don't file a request and wait; they already know where to find the right material and assign it directly.
Why we plan together
Every location plans the term the same way, so a colleague can pick up where you left off.

“It's been used a lot by our managers; they now take initiatives. This is great because, when they notice a skill gap, they don't come to me with the request. Instead, they already know where to find the materials and assign them to the people who need them.”
